Building Community Resilience, Peace, and Reconciliation: Contributions of Local Faith Actors
Description
Over the past two years, British Academy-funded research has explored how local faith actors build community resilience, foster peace, and support reconciliation. This work highlights both tangible contributions, such as service provision, mediation, and resource mobilisation, and intangible ones, including the power of ritual, prayer, and moral leadership. Together, these elements reveal the often overlooked ways faith motivates and sustains peacebuilding at the grassroots.
We invite you to an international webinar featuring country teams from Burundi, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, who will share findings from two years of collaborative research. The event will also launch a new framework that captures the inseparability of tangible and intangible faith-based contributions to peace.
Join us in reflecting on why recognising these dimensions is crucial, not just for faith-based organisations but for all those working in peace and development, and what is lost when ignored.
